Design in mind +++++

Features that are more closey knit with the structure include the following, they also can really bring elements together-

Shapes over images:
(goes well with the crisp whitespace).






















(the large number over really looks good, maybe for an issue no).












(although in this image its a menu the transparent retangular shape looks well over the image, though a tad darker would look great).


Perfect alignment:

(with more whitespace, I would prefer fro my project, but this works well when square images and photos and plain colors are boxed up).




































A more unusual feature is a post it note doodle/illustration for a header image for the article section:
